For Immediate
Release
LAUSANNE, Switzerland, July 24--The international firm
CollierBlanc (Nasdaq: DORK) unveiled plans today for its
new flagship product, Collier2000, to be released early
February of next year. Collier2000 will eventually
replace all previous versions of the company's products.
"I don't want to push our customer's expectations
too far," said CollierBlanc vice president J. K.
Collier at today's press conference. "But our
development team assures us that this will be the best
product we've produced since the merger of our
organizations last year."
Collier2000's operating system will have two native
interface languages, Collier explained. "The
decision was a no-brainer. The market today demands
backwards compatibility. So having a model that can span
the cross-platform gap between American and French
conventions is essential for maintaining open interfaces
with both Collier models and Blanc models as they exist
in today's production environments in their respective
cultures."
Collier declined to reveal any
more technical details about Collier2000, codenamed LittleBean by its
developers. He mentioned only that they have planned an aggressive marketing
strategy, including the purchase of advertising space on the face of the
moon (see photo for detail).
When asked about rumors that the Collier2000 project
was running behind schedule, Collier replied, "No,
we're right on schedule. From the beginning, we opted to
produce this model in nine months, and we're dedicated to
sticking to that timeline."
"Unlike big companies such as Microsoft,"
Collier continued, "we like to be honest with our
customers. There will inevitably be bugs in Collier2000
when it hits the market. But it's expected. We're sure
that in a few years' time, it will develop into a
reliable, mature model on which we can base future
products. We hope to set the standards for the
market."
